subcats of Category:Quedlinburg[edit]

Hi Gryffindor.

Editing the article of de:Stiftskirche St. Servatius (Quedlinburg) I look up to the categories on Commons. There is Category:Quedlinburg - fine. But then there is the subcat Category:Collegiate Church, Castle, and Old Town of Quedlinburg, a term that looks like the naming for the "world heritage" - title. But already, there are some subcats. There is the Category:Castle of Quedlinburg and Category:Collegiate Church of Quedlinburg. But really, both of them are on the so called "Schlossberg" (translated Castle-Hill) and all files on the Castle shows the Church, too. So i think it would be the best to delete the Category:Old Town of Quedlinburg (because there's only a minority of pictures in the cat and subcats of Category:Quedlinburg not shown the buildings or things in "old town"). For both the others, getting them together in Category:Schlossberg Quedlinburg or Collegiate Church and Castle of Quedlinburg.

I would do it self, if there wasn't the Category:World Heritage Sites in Germany. Because there is the naming correct. So this is difficult. And there, your opinion (you have created this categories) is called. What can be the reason? Moving categories like "Churches in Quedlinburg" into "Collegiate Church, Castle, and Old Town of Quedlinburg", but then there would be the Category Quedlinburg be minimized out to round 20 pictures.

hi Quedel,
thank you for your message. Well, remember that main policy is to use English for the categories, while you can use the native language for articles, which I think is a fair compromise because not everyone can speak German. So translation is always a bit difficult. As you rightly pointed out, the idea for the category Category:Collegiate Church, Castle, and Old Town of Quedlinburg is the UNESCO name, as you can see here Category:World Heritage Sites in Germany. So it only makes sense to break the main category down into "Collegiate Church of Quedlinburg", "Castle of Quedlinburg" and "Old town of Quedlinburg", don't you think? I am no expert on Quedlinburg, I don't know where the old town starts and where the new one begins, but the images should all be in their right categories if possible. If that does not make sense, I suppose you can get rid of "Old town of Quedlinburg", but the rest should remain with their English names. The English names were registered that way by the German government when applying to the UNESCO list, so I suppose the names they use must be official translations. sincerely Gryffindor (talk) 20:13, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
It's quite difficult. Because the "old town" is really greater than the most think. So, the called "new town" (Neustadt) is already part of the historical city of Quedlinburg and also included in the world heritage. I discovered a map from the Advisory Body Evaluation [1], but this was alreay a nomination and isn't including areas like the Münzenberg or the St. Wiperti-church listened in the text in paper.
  1. So the main problem is this: moving all pictures showing buildings of the historical town to "old town of Quedlinburg" will nearly clear the main category (only some pictures will remain). This isn't very useful for clicking on the category:Quedlinburg. Leaving all at status quo gives a well view about the town, but the few people clicking down UNESCO won't see most of the pictures. So moving the pictures from Category:Quedlinburg to Category:Old Town of Quedlinburg?
  2. Next: all pictures in Category:Castle of Quedlinburg are showing the Castle and the Collegiate church. There is currently one picture (File:Quedlinburg Schloss.JPG) only showing the Castle without the Collegiate Church. What to do here? Getting the pictures in both of the categories?
  3. I would mentioned to get Category:Old Town of Quedlinburg as a subcat from Quedlinburg directly, too. So it will be recognised better. Because all pictures with buildings (except the 2 of the Bahnhof/train station 1 / 2 within the world heritage and had to go in "old town" subcat.
So, as you see, i get the discussion completely moved to my talk page. I hope, its okay.

Commons-Übertragung[edit]

Das ist wohl ein Fehler beim Übertragen: während ich mir eine Liste mit Dateien zum Übertragen machte, kam wohl ein SLA auf die Dateien, was der CH wohl mitnahm. Da ich nicht alle Transfers geprüft hatte, sah ich erst später diese Vorlage (warum auch immer die mit rübertransferiert wird). Vielen lieben Dank. Das war ja eine tolle Liste. Interessante Bilder sind dabei zustande gekommen. Ein paar konnte man dabei ganz gut auch in andere Kategorien noch mit einbetten. Mal schauen, was ich mit den paar mache, die ich noch nicht wirklcih gut zuordnen konnte. Nur noch eins: woher kommen die (lt. Logbuch) nie existenten Bilder? Okay, in den Quelltext hab ich zugegebenermaßen nicht geschaut. Die Redlinks hab ich jetzt erklärt (nachdem ich meine eigenen Redlinks darunter mal analysiert habe), es war die Unterscheidung von .jpg zu .JPG - da macht MediaWiki einen Unterschied. --Quedel (talk) 14:09, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

File:Tatra KT4D Zwickau.jpg[edit]

Hi Quedel, ich bin gerade über dieses Foto gestolpert. Die Uhr ganz oben wurde in den 1980ern im Zuge der Neugestaltung des ganzen Areals (Bahnhofstraße, Wiederaufnahme der Linie 1, neue Zentralhaltestelle, Fußgängeunterführung usw.) angebracht. Schon kurze Zeit später ging sie kaputt, wurde repariert, ging wieder kaputt usw. etc. ad nauseam. Irgendwann (wann? Hätte man damals aufschreiben müssen) wurden die Reparaturversuche aufgegeben. NdW wurde dann an derselben Giebelwand eine neue Uhr (plug'n-play) angebracht, ohne die alte zu entfernen. Wenn Du auf Deinem Foto genau hinsiehst, so erkennst Du sie hinter der Fahrerkabine der Straßenbahn. als Du daß Foto geschossen hast, war die Original-Uhr schon ein paar Jahre außer Betrieb. User:ItsLassieTime and Easter card[edit]

ItsLassieTime was banned on Wikipedia nearly 3 years ago, and that's also about the last time he posted here. The curious things are (1) he remains unblocked here; and (2) another editor seems to have taken over, at least where this one image is concerned. I have not investigated further. I hadn't view about the block-log, only seeing that the user is not active sind three years. I figured out this file while the de.wikinews uses this file. Hallo Quedel, vielen Dank für die Info. Die Datei kann hier auf Commons gelöscht werden. Es gibt eine andere Version des Fotos in der deutschen Wikipedia. Das Bild ist definitiv vor 1907 entstanden. Man sollte nur beachten, dass es einerseits um eine Commons-Datei geht und andererseits um eine Datei auf de.wikipedia, die nicht nach Commons kann. Über Löschanträge entscheide nicht ich. --Quedel (talk) 19:36, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
Das ist mir bewusst und ich finde solche Löschanträge auch absolut in Ordnung. Es gibt genug Gründe, solche Bilder im Zweifelsfall lieber wieder aus Commons raus zunehmen. Das ist zum Schutz des Hochladers, aber auch des Nachnutzers. Ich habe großen Respekt vor Leuten, die sich die Zeit nehmen, diese große Anzahl von Dateien hier anzusehen. Panoramafreiheit Österreich[edit]

Hallo Quedel, ich habe eben gesehen, dass einige Bilder österreichischer Innenräume von Kirchen von dir zur Löschung vorgeschlagen wurden und gelöscht wurden. Deine Begründung stimmt nicht, da das Urheberrecht/Panoramafreiheit in Österreich anders gelagert ist, als in DE. In Österreich gilt die Panoramafreiheit auch für Innenräume von Kirchen, wenn der Künstler eines Kunstwerkes vor weniger als 70 Jahren gestorben ist. Hallo @Austriantraveler: Ja, das ist mir bekannt und hat mich auch schon von einigen Löschanträgen abgehalten. Die Panoramafreiheit gilt aber nicht für dn gesamten Innenraum, sondern nur für das architektonisch "untrennbare" Ensemble. Womit der Großteil der Einrichtungsgegenstände herausfallen, ebenso wie die isolierte Darstellung von künstlerischen Werken ohne Abbildung des Raumzusammenhanges. Hast du konkrete Dateien, auf die du dich beziehst, dann könnte ich meine Beweggründe dir gerne näher darstellen. --Quedel (talk) 20:51, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Lieber Quedel,

kannst Du bitte noch mal rüber schauen zu Freienstein? Sie hat sich bereits beim Hochladen des Plakats an permissions-de@wikimedia.org gewendet, und Dir jetzt auch noch mal das Gleiche auf ihrer Disk geschrieben, aber weil sie noch unerfahren ist, ohne Ping oder Wikilink. Wenn sie noch irgendetwas weiteres erfüllen muss (Geburtsurkunde? Erbbescheinigung?), oder einen Fehler gemacht hat, schreib ihr das doch bitte zeitnah und konkret. Denn das Erbe der Filmplakate ihres Vaters Matthias Claus, welche sie in Wikipedia hochladen möchte (siehe hier ihre ersten Versuche auf der deutschen Wikipedia, die sie jetzt lieber auf Commons wiederholt, wie ich ihr geraten habe), ist zu kostbar, als das man sie an den für Anfänger oft undurchsichtigen Verifizierungsprozessen scheitern lassen sollte. leider hast Du bisher noch nicht reagiert, und inzwischen hat ein nicht Deutsch sprechender Admin die Datei [[File:Vom_tapferen_Schmied_Filmplakat.jpg]] gelöscht. Ohne nähere Begründung als "(Copyright violation, see Commons:Licensing)". Ich hab Yann gerade geschrieben, aber ich würde Dich dringend bitten, Dich da auch zu kümmern, denn ich bin kein Admin. Man muss ihr helfen, anstatt einfach zu löschen; sonst vergrätzt man echt tolle Leute, die eigentlich gerne zur Wikipedia beitragen würden. inzwischen hat Yann die Datei wieder hergestellt. Er hat aber, wie er hier schreibt, noch nicht verifiziert, da er kein Deutsch spricht. Kannst Du mal gucken, ob alles mit der OTRS-Email von Freienstein ok ist, und wenn nicht, kannst Du ihr schreiben, was sie ergänzen/besser machen soll? Denn dies wäre nur das Erste von einem Dutzend Plakaten ihres Vaters, die sie hochladen möchte, und da wäre es schön, wenn die nächsten Verifizierungen reibungsloser über die Bühne gingen. @Sprachraum:: Nun, ich bin auch nicht jeden Tag hier. Da ich nur auf de.wp Administrator bin und nicht hier, kann ich da wenig ausrichten. Grundsätzlich ist es kein Problem, Freigaben auch englisch zu verfassen. Da ich aber kein Mitglied im Commons:OTRS-Team bin, habe ich da null Einsichtnahme oder Einfluss. Anfragen müssten also bei denjenigen gestellt werden. Aber die Sache ist ja bereits am Laufen. Da muss sich das OTRS-Team drum kümmern. --Quedel (talk) 13:15, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
