Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote.
If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

Crossed lines[edit]
I think we may have a crossed line with Commons:Deletion requests/File:British passport 2002.jpg that page is to discuss the deletion of File:British passport 2002.jpg, what exactly do you want to do with File:Nios.PNG start a deletion review for the file, (I can walk you through the process if you want, though I'm only learning myself) or do you want to find somewhere to discuss fixing the file. - Whoops. Sorry Kto288. I engage fingers on keyboard before engaging brain. I think I have things sorted now. --P.g.champion (talk) 18:19, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Postman's Park[edit]
Although built on the site of a former graveyard, Postman's Park has not been a graveyard for well over a century, and the plaques on the "Wall of Heroes" are a commemoration of acts of public service by civilians, not grave markers. Please don't add Category:Epitaphs in England, which is for tombstones, to the images in Category:Postman's Park. Thanks! — iridescent 19:53, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Iridescent, It’s funny you should say that. This crossed my mind and did not what to chase someone else's tail around in circles that the vernacular American usage encourage people to do. Therefore, I sought the opinion of Verica Atrebatum. You have kind of proven the value of my last suggestion to him. Do you want to continue this on his talk page so that we can once and for all nail down the exact scope of each of these relevant categories?
Category:London boroughs[edit]
Hi, I have done the rename of the London boroughs & rename of the cat itself. Can you check to see if there are any (now empty) cats that need to be taken out of the "London borough" category, and fit them elsewhere? Or if there are any that can be redirected? I'm not too familiar with London boroughs, so your help is appreciated :) Kind regards, -- Deadstar (msg) 16:59, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, that really good. I will happily check it. Will reserve some time tomorrow when I can switch off the phone and lock all the doors so as not to get interrupted until I’m done.--P.g.champion (talk) 17:24, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! And can you check my talkpage too - I've changed the spelling on the cats to "Borough". Any ideas on how to rename the subcats & which ones need to be renamed? If you can make a list of all of them in the format {{move cat|CURRENT NAME|NEW NAME}}, so {{move cat|Buildings in Camden|Buildings in Camden, Borough of London}}, I can then paste it into commons delinker. It might be helpful to get some type of consensus on the form of the subcats by answering the query on my talkpage about it. Anyway - let me know if I can help. -- Deadstar (msg) 09:52, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- To stop things spiralling out of control on my talkpage, I've opened a new cfd & pasted in the comments from there. Commons:Categories for discussion/2009/11/London Boroughs. -- Deadstar (msg) 12:38, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Polish War Memorial[edit]
Hi, thanks for your comment. Under the main category of Aviation, we cover aviators. If there is no category Monuments and memorials to aviators, then aviation is the next best thing. That's my rationale when I discover aviation-related memorials, especially if there is no existing category. It might be worth you searching on the key words memorial polish northolt war (etc) - there are some uncatalogued images in that group alone that evidently need attention.PeterWD (talk) 19:40, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
